Christine Karell, APRN-BC, PMHNP

 

I specialize in medications used to treat psychiatric conditions. I have a Masters and a Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  I am an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatry. I am Board Certified as a Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.  I have more than 18 years experience working with adults, children, and elderly.  I belong to professional organizations and attend continuing education workshops yearly.

Ana Cerrato-Young, APRN-BC, PMHNP
Ana earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2015, and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2019 from Walden University.  

She began her nursing career as a registered nurse at Miami Behavioral Health Center. In her home state of Florida, she began working with psychiatric patients it was there that she realized her passion for helping those with mental health issues and decided to enroll in NP school.

Ana has lived in rural Nebraska for the last 5 years, and is very excited about helping patients who suffer from mental health and substance use issues.

In her free time, Ana enjoys spending time with her husband, and their two children. She also enjoys attending local events such as Willow Tree and the Sheridan County Fair & Rodeo.  

​Ana is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Carissa Elliott, LIMHP

 

Carissa Elliott is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner with 12 years of experience. She specializes in working with children, adolescents and families, but is also trained to work with adults, couples, and schools. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Chadron State College in Psychology/Sociology in 2003, and continued her education at Chadron State College in Counseling Psychology, graduating with her Master’s Degree in 2007. She worked as a PLMHP with the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC as an outreach therapist in the panhandle of Nebraska for three years. In 2010, after receiving her LMHP, she left to start her own private mental health practice in Chadron, Nebraska. She has owned and operated this private practice for 9 years. In 2016 she received her LIMHP, allowing her to practice with the highest credential granted for her education level. Carissa was also a member of the Northern Panhandle Crisis Response Team for 11 years, and recently resigned from that position to focus on private practice work. 
     Carissa lives in Chadron, Nebraska with her husband of 19 years, and her two children. As a native of rural Nebraska. Carissa is familiar with the area and the challenges that are presented for receiving mental health care, and is dedicated to bridging that gap both in counseling services and consultation with area schools.

Shawnda Connor, LIMHP, LADC, CPC

Shawnda Connor, LMHP, LADC, CPC grew up on a cattle ranch near Antioch and graduated from Alliance High school. She completed her higher education at Grand Canyon University with her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Masters in Addiction Counseling. She helps clients who have substance abuse or mental health or a combination of both diseases. Utilizing evidence based practices and trauma informed care, Shawnda strongly believes in helping not only the individuals, but the families whose lives have been affected by mental illness or substance abuse by tailoring her therapeutic approach to each person’s or family’s needs. She is a member of the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors. In her free time, Shawnda enjoys spending time with her children, four grandchildren, numerous outdoor activities, and is a 20+ year Box Butte County 4-H volunteer.

Alex Jines, LADC CPSWS

Alex is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor who has worked in various parts of the substance abuse field for 8 years. She began her career in a residential treatment center where she performed case management, community support, and counseling. The services she provides include: Substance Abuse Evaluations and Referral, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient counseling. She enjoys working with both adolescent and adults to build skills aimed at making a difference in their lives.Alex spends her free time with her family or continuing her education at Bellevue University.

Rebecca Gallant PLADC

Rebecca is provisionally licensed in alcohol and drug counseling who has worked in family support, community support, and probation services for 12 years in Box Butte, Dawes, and Sheridan Counties.  She began her career in community outreach and service through the Ted Turner Youth Program as Director in Sheridan County and continues to pursue areas of community outreach and service interests through providing Substance Abuse Evaluations and Referral, Substance Use Outpatient Treatment, Patient Counseling, and Intensive Family Preservation. Rebecca believes in whole health concepts, evidence based practices, and trauma care practices in forming therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of those she works with, both individuals and families.

In Rebecca's free time she continues to work on her education through Chadron State College, holistic health and wellness, and enjoys spending time with her beautiful family and friends.

Dr. Angelyn Nienhuser, CMS, ND, LPC, LIMHP, LADC, PhD

 

Ideal clients are those seeking self-help life skills in creating balance in their lives. Mental Health therapies are used in combination with lifestyle assessment to create individualized, holistic plans developed through each clients perspectives and desired outcomes. Knowledge is the tool used in building better understanding of oneself and beginning a journey of enlightenment and empowerment for improvement in life. Guidance and resourcefulness of therapeutic practices motivate the processes of this journey and light the way for self-discovery.

    Agency Hours: Varied, usually 8 AM-5 PM

    Fees: Based on NE Probation Contracted Fee Schedule. Probation sliding scale available with probation’s prior approval.
